Company History

Atlantic Engineering Group’s founder, Mr. James H Salter, P.E., began his career as an electric utility engineer, working with both investor-owned and municipal power systems. Subsequently, he served as the General Manager of a municipal utility that owned and operated a broadband telecommunications system, as well as providing electricity, natural gas, water, and waste water services. James has served on the Board and is a Past President of the Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) Council (www.ftthcouncil.org). As a former General Manager, he has full appreciation for the need of qualified engineering and competent construction performance that today’s modern telecommunications networks and operators demand.

James started Atlantic Engineering Group in 1996 and the company has enjoyed remarkable growth over the past fourteen years. Historically, Atlantic has served the municipality, electric utility, rural telephone and other public clients. As emerging technologies and changing landscapes occur, Atlantic is currently pursuing other outside plant opportunities.
