Construction of Broadband Network on Schedule

Construction of the Co-Mo Connect broadband service is on schedule, as crews begin to hang the fiber that will carry the fast-as-light communications network.

Crews from Georgia-based Atlantic Engineering Group began the fiber-hanging process, called lashing, on Nov. 1 in the northern pilot project area, extending from the cooperative’s Tipton headquarters west toward Syracuse. Two pilot project areas were selected by Co-Mo Electric to test whether it is feasible to build the service to the entire cooperative service territory.
