KCEC Rural Broadband Project Start is Imminent

The first shovels to hit the earth were just for show, but construction on Kit Carson Electric Co-op’s $64 million broadband fiber-to-the-home project is expected to start within a matter of days.

Kit Carson CEO Luis Reyes, Jr. said the company’s subcontractors would go to work by Halloween in several different locations around the Enchanted Circle, including Angel Fire. In the Moreno Valley, the crews plan to start north of the Angel Fire Resort Ski Area and south of the resort Country Club. They will then work their way north to connect the Village of Angel Fire, said Jose Lovato of Kit Carson Telecom.
